The Department of Public Health (Public Health) is asking for assistance with sharing this advisory information with families. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued a health advisory on December 8, 2023, to notify clinicians and the public about an outbreak of Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF) among people in the United States with recent travel to or residence in the city of Tecate, state of Baja California, Mexico. Of five recent patients who had traveled to Tecate, four were younger than 18, and three patients died.
