It’s that time of year again!

Students, faculty and university staff are strongly recommended to get vaccinated against influenza.

Fall semester brings us back to campus, and prepared for many exciting opportunities — takes steps so influenza doesn’t get in the way of your plans — make a plan to get your flu vaccine!

For most people who need only one dose of flu vaccine for the season, September and October are generally good times to be vaccinated against flu. Ideally, everyone should be vaccinated by the end of October.

Get protected against a “ruff” respiratory illness season!

Is it free (no “out of pocket” costs)?

Students on SHIP/Aetna

For USC students on the SHIP/Aetna plan there are no out-of-pocket costs, you may receive it at any location Student Health is providing an outreach; you can also receive it during a regular medical visit in clinic.

Students on other plans

If you are an another insurance plan, the cost of the vaccine ($20) is billed to your student account. This is usually a reimbursable cost when submitted to your insurer (check with your plan on their website.)

Faculty and Staff

For USC employees, the USC Health Plans is sponsoring flu vaccinations at no cost for all USC faculty and staff at the USC Pharmacies. Employees and their dependents enrolled in USC PPO, EPO Plus, or EPO plans can visit any contracted Navitus pharmacy and have their flu vaccination fully covered when they present their plan ID card, or they may visit their primary care physician and have the vaccination covered under their medical benefits as preventive care service.
