As we near the end of the academic year, we would like to share some reminders to keep your health on track over the summer.

✅ CONTINUING SUMMER HEALTH CARE

(available to all USC students, including May 2022 graduates): For students who are in Los Angeles for the summer (or will be in other regions of California, and would like to continue through Telehealth visits), signing up for the Summer Health Fee can provide you the same access to USC Student Health services that you have during the academic year. Sign up for summer health services. See the associated costs.

✅ HEALTH INSURANCE CONTINUITY FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS:

Congratulations on your upcoming commencement! We celebrate this accomplishment with you and are proud to have supported your care during your academic journey. If you are on the USC Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP, provided through Aetna), your insurance coverage continues through August 14, 2022. We recommend arranging for new coverage in the 6-week period before this date; CoveredCA can provide information on plans for residents of California.

✅ IMMUNIZATIONS:

If you have any required immunizations that are not yet complete — Measles, Mumps, Varicella (“Chicken Pox”), Meningococcal Disease (ACWY) — we strongly encourage you to complete these vaccinations before the next academic year. Late fees and/or registration holds may be applied to students who are not in compliance with these requirements.

✅ SAFELY DISCARD DRUGS:

Drug Take Back Day(s) are April 20 & 21 on both campuses, courtesy of the USC Pharmacies. If you are interested in learning how to use naloxone to save someone from an opioid overdose, visit Naloxone SC to watch a 10-minute video and obtain a free kit.

✅ COVID-19 TESTING:

Test before and after traveling, wear a mask when in crowded or indoor settings (including on public transportation), and get a booster if you are in the eligible timeframe. Don’t travel if you are sick.

☀️ WEAR SUNSCREEN:

Pick up a complimentary travel sunscreen courtesy of USC Student Health, from the testing location in Jefferson Lot.
