12-15 hours, requirement to be on-campus for evening and weekend events

Location: Hybrid role; 1-2 in-person events per week at University Park
campus (Engemann-building based)
Hours Per Week: 8-12 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $17.87/hour
Start Date: April 1, 2025

Semester Commitment: Spring 2025 to Spring 2026; preference for those who can commit to one academic year in the position (Spring 2025 to Spring 2026)

USC Student Health is seeking three graduate students to join the communications team as the

Outreach Program Assistants. These unique internship opportunities are perfect for those

with superb project management skills, team communication, and an interest in student health and well-being. The outreach program assistants will report to the Associate Director of Outreach and Community Engagement.

Position Summary:

The Outreach Program Assistants will assist with the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of in-person and virtual events. These roles require physical labor, including lifting and moving event materials, as well as organizational and communication skills to support event logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

    •    Assist with in-person and virtual event coordination, including setup, execution, and teardown.

    •    Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.

    •    Lift, transport, and arrange event materials, furniture, and equipment (must be able to lift 25 lbs.).

    •    Set up and break down event spaces, including tables, chairs, signage, decorations, and technology.

    •    Maintain, track, and organize event inventory and supplies, ensuring items are in good condition and replenished as necessary.

    •    Support event programming, panelist/speaker support, and on-site logistics.

    •    Assist with troubleshooting and resolving event-day issues efficiently.

    •    Work collaboratively with the communications team to support promotional efforts and special projects as needed.

    •    Provide general administrative and logistical support to ensure successful event execution.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

    •    Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

    •    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    •    Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

    •    Experience with event planning, customer service, or related fields is a plus.

    •    Comfortable with technology and basic audiovisual setup.

This position is ideal for students who are proactive, reliable, and capable of handling physical tasks while contributing to a dynamic events team.
Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on event or volunteer experience.
