Students interested in joining a group should go to MySHR and create a new message, and submit a “Counseling Group Interest Form.”

This group is for individuals who find it difficult to manage intense emotions – skills adapted from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). You will learn a variety of skills, which include regulating emotions, tolerating distress, increasing mindfulness, and improving relationships. Participants will support each other throughout this process in order to learn from one another.

*Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps with managing upsetting thought patterns and behaviors. It incorporates practices such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness techniques.
