Broderick Leaks, PhD is associate vice president and director of counseling and mental health at USC Student Health and vice chair of college mental health in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at Keck School of Medicine. Leaks earned his PhD in clinical psychology, master’s in theology and master’s in psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary. In addition, he earned his master’s of Health Administration at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. He joined USC Student Health as a psychology intern in 2008 and subsequently moved into the roles of clinical staff psychologist, group coordinator, assistant director and training director in counseling and mental health before assuming directorship in January 2019.
As a psychologist, Leaks specializes in individual and group psychotherapy; treatment of anxiety and panic disorders; OCD; ethnic minority identity development (particularly African American); and the integration of psychology and spirituality. Leaks currently serves as President of the Organization of California Counseling Directors in Higher Education for the 2024-2025 term. He lives with his family in the USC Village serving as faculty in residence for the Bohnett and Nemirovsky Residential Colleges.
