If you struggle with anxious feelings, depressed moods, worried thoughts, and self-defeating behaviors, then this is the group for you. Thriving with Depression and Anxiety is a 10-session weekly group devoted to helping students to encounter depression and anxiety differently and create a more vital and meaningful life. Drawing on a relatively new therapeutic approach, called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we will be engaging in experiential exercises, practicing mindfulness, completing brief readings, and learning practical skills to help transform the way we approach our problems. Participants are asked to commit to attending all ten sessions throughout the semester in order to maximize benefit. Requires group screen before joining.
