Tannaz Alagheband, LCSW completed her Master of Social Work at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a liaison for the Physician Assistant Program, Pharmacy School, and Global Medicine Program. Her professional interests include mindfulness-based therapy, anxiety disorders, complex childhood and developmental trauma, life transitions, impostor syndrome and perfectionism among graduate students, first-and second-generation students, Iranian-American students, Middle-Eastern students, and LGBTQ+ students of color.
She holds mindfulness groups on the Health Science Campus and uses an integrative approach that honors the body and mind connection in her therapeutic work. She would tell her college self that: “You don’t have to be perfect or sound perfect to belong. You are worthy just as you are.” Alagheband is bilingual and bicultural and provides therapy in English and Farsi. Her pronouns are she, her, hers.
