Melissa Pottash, LCSW received her LCSW from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her professional interests include individual, group and family psychotherapy, trauma (acute and chronic), PTSD, sexual violence, attachment issues, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed care. Pottash has received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
She currently serves as the liaison to first-generation students at USC and conducts a “Living with Anxiety” group. She would tell her college self to: “Try new things! College is a chance to explore and do things you wouldn’t otherwise do – so join a club, try a new hobby, or take a class in an unfamiliar area. And don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you’re struggling, reach out for support. Remember that others are likely going through challenges too, and you are not alone. And, lastly, have fun and enjoy the experience”.
